1. Make positive thinking a habit.
It takes 21 days to form a habit. When you take the initiative to make positivity a priority, you will notice the changes in your thoughts.
2. Pay attention to when your mind wanders.
Whenever your mind starts to drift, pay attention to your thoughts. Is it forming negative beliefs that simply are not true? If so, twist your thoughts and remind yourself that what your mind is trying to have you think is not real.
3. Write down three things that you are grateful for when you wake up in the morning.
Writing down or even saying out loud things that you are grateful for, can drastically change the way you feel and lighten your mood.
4. Stop Complaining.
Being able to find a solution, without continuously complaining can bring great benefits. Tony Stiles says it better "complaining about a problem without proposing a solution is called whining".
5. Find the silver lining in everything.
If an unfortunate situation occurs, you should find the silver lining. It can be difficult at first, but some things are out of your control. If you allow yourself to dwell on a situation, it will end up making you feel angry or even bitter.
In conclusion, there are a myriad of ways to create positivity and happiness in your life. I believe by starting with these first directives, you can be in a more positive mindset. It will allow you to grow and endure the trajectory you want for your life.
